Survivor Strategy
Football Survivor Pools are a simple, fun and easy way to get some action on the game. And, you can win a bunch of money too! The rules couldn't be more straight-forward. You pick a team to win each week. If they win, you move on to the next week. If they lose or tie… you're out. The last man standing not only wins the cash pot, but also takes home bragging rights for the year.
Sounds too easy, right? Well, there is one slight catch… you can only pick each team once. So make sure to pick your teams wisely. If you take all the good teams at the beginning of the year, you'll be left with the scrubs at the end of the season, which is when all the money is on the line. If you do the reverse, you could find yourself sitting on the sidelines by Week 3!
Some tips for picking your Survivor Pool teams:
1) Make sure you know who is playing at home. Home field is a definite advantage.
2) What's the weather going to be like? This is more important for when it starts to rain and snow. If the team you want to pick is a heavy passing team, you might want to reconsider them if the forecast is for a blizzard.
3) Check out the injury report. Make sure your team's star players aren't injured… or arrested for DUI.
4) In Week 1, players are still getting used to new teammates and coaches or are still clearing out the cobwebs from the off-season. Pick a strong team to win in Week 1 or your run to glory might be short-lived.
5) When you become more experienced and comfortable with Survivor Pools, consider buying more than one team to hedge your bets each week.
